Looking out from the balcony of your observatory, you thank the gods for the floods that brought a particularly bountiful crop to bear this year, and muse on how you might best honor them with a new monument constructed in their glory. What would most benefit your people while showing the proper respect to those who bestowed such gifts upon the land of Egypt?

In Deus Egypt, the first expansion for Deus, players must lead their people to greatness as they conquer barbarians and compete to build the greatest civilization the world has yet seen! This expansion adds the wonders of the ancient Egyptian pharaohs to this rich strategy game with six completely new decks of buildings to be used with the base game. The fertile basin of the Nile brings new challenges and opportunities for a skilled and able leader, but a wise ruler must never forget that all blessings begin with the gods. New card effects and unique temples add fresh variety to each player’s journey to bring the structure and safety of civilization to this ancient world.

The world of ancient Egypt was filled with wondrous monuments like the Pyramids of Giza and the mysterious Sphinx. Each of these testaments to the people and culture of that region were constructed amid challenges and opportunities unique to that part of the world.

New cards for all six original building types reflect the novel nature of the ancient Egyptian world and its inhabitants, adding exciting new layers of strategy to Deus. Invest in your Civil infrastructure and send your kingdom’s Scribe to each new building to reap extra benefits from your efforts. Ramp up your Resource production by strategically using river barques to gain extra materials for building. Construct a powerful Maritime fleet to affect the worth of all goods in a new Market that can tank the value of your opponent’s materials while giving your investments a boost.

Your civilization will also be capable of great things with edifices dedicated to Science. These offer powerful one-time effects that can turn the tide of your empire’s development in one deft move. Advance your influence in the region and take from your opponents by using new Combat tokens that will further expand your Military might. But remember: no matter how mighty or wise your people become, the will of the gods can change the fate of a nation in the space of a moment. Powerful new Temples have effects that last for the duration of the game rather than activating at the end of the game, bringing the whims of the Egyptian pantheon directly into play.

With its highly modular board and wide array of buildings, no two games of the original Deus are ever alike. Deus Egypt expands on that, offering players even more variety to the manner in which you can build an empire to last ages. Each of the new decks can be substituted into the base game, allowing players can choose which deck to use for each building type during setup, customizing their game experience to their liking.

There are so many possible combinations of decks and board arrangements that you’ll always find a truly new and unique land to tame. Maybe you’d like to replace the entire skyline with this new Egyptian landscape, or perhaps you’ll simply swap out the Military deck for a little added competition.
