It's 1870, and the Northern Pacific is getting ready to lay track to Minneapolis to the Pacific Ocean. That means there's money to be made investing in booming railroad towns!
In the fast-playing Northern Pacific, the players have a simple, but challenging, choice on each of their turns: Either place one of their investment cubes on a city that hasn't yet been connected to the Northern Pacific or extend the railroad to another city. When a railroad reaches a city, each player that has invested in that city retrieves their investment marker(s) and takes an additional marker from the supply. Investing wisely, allying with your opponents, and choosing the right time to lay track will reap rewards. Keep in mind that your bad investments can work against you at the end of the game. This cutthroat, quick-paced, perfect-information game is played over three rounds. The player who has invested most wisely over the course of the game wins.
